For our one night in the 4th largest city in the Netherlands, we stayed in what may be the most conveniently located hotel I have stayed in. Yes, the room was small, but I don't think I have stayed in a hotel inside a shopping centre before. And one that is opposite the train station. See what I mean by convenient?

They managed to fit in bedside tables on both sides of the small bed which sits alongside a window seat that also serves as ample storage space. A tiny desk has a comfy chair and and shelf is fixed to the wall above.

A tiny open wardrobe has a handful of regular wooden hangers, and a shelf and still holds an ironing board and iron and a shelf above.

A kettle sits alongside the usual teas and coffee sachets plus 2 mugs and 2 glasses

The bathroom has a large shower where there was potential for a small bathtub (and shower overhead) and the vanity unit has a good-sized shelf underneath. Toiletries are full-sized, attached to the wall and include body lotion. At least one facecloth is included among the towels.

In terms of amenities often missing in hotel rooms, hooks, drawers and a towel rail at the sink, this one has a long towel rail pleasingly attached to the front of the sink exactly where it should be.

Other amenities include a hairdryer, and a safe and the TV is on the wall opposite the bed.

The hot buffet breakfast is served in the compact lobby which looks out to the shopping centre. It’s only at this time we realised how many people were staying here who like us, had seen the Dream Theater gig the night before, the beloved’s birthday treat.
