View from the Room: Tudor House Hotel, Coaching Inn Tewkesbury
The situation: broken arm in a cast.
The brief: on overnight stay in a large comfy room, in a hotel with relaxing lounge areas, a restaurant and plenty to see outside the front door.
The solution: A weekend in Tewkesbury in a Coaching Inn.
Frankly I always want to stay in one of these boutique hotels. They have good restaurants, comfortable rooms and are generally on a high street.
We did book a superior room in case the cast on my arm tired me out. It turns out we both needed the extra rest rather than have the usual get out and stay out mindset of weekends away especially as we had to cancel the Montreal trip that was planned over Easter.
It turns out more time was spent on the curl-up sofa either reading or looking out to the glorious views across the marina. There were even games supplied on the desk. We were in the outbuilding so it was extra quiet. Our car was parked right under our bay window and although sometimes tight, we managed to find a space when we returned from explorations.
The breakfasts and the one dinner in the hotel were excellent and the service was perfect. I’m so grateful to the Coaching Inn and already looking forward to the next stay.
